Botox, Dysport, Xeomin & Jeuveau in Concord, NC

At illumeMD, neuromodulator treatments are designed for subtle, natural-looking rejuvenation—softening lines while keeping your expressions you. Care is physician-led by Dr. Pragathi Ravi, with a "less but smart" dosing philosophy for results that look refreshed, never overdone.

What neuromodulators do

Neuromodulators (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®) temporarily relax specific facial muscles that contribute to dynamic wrinkles—such as frown lines ("11s"), forehead lines, and crow's feet. With precise placement, we soften lines, refine facial balance, and support smoother skin—without freezing your expression.

Areas we commonly treat

Frown lines (glabella)
Forehead lines
Crow's feet
Bunny lines (nose)
Lip flip (select cases)
Chin dimpling
Brow lift (subtle)
Masseter slimming/TMJ (consultation required)

Some applications are off-label; we'll discuss benefits, risks, and alternatives during your consultation.

Which brand is right for me?

All four are FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A formulations with similar end results when expertly dosed; selection depends on your goals, anatomy, timeline, and prior treatment history.

Brand Typical Onset* Typical Duration* Notes
Botox® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) 3–7 days 3–4 months Gold-standard name recognition; versatile across areas.
Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) 2–3 days 3–4 months Often favored for glabella; units are not 1:1 with Botox.
Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) 3–4 days 3–4 months "Purified" formulation without complexing proteins.

What to expect

  • Before: Arrive makeup-free if treating the upper face. Consider pausing fish oil, high-dose vitamin E, or aspirin (if approved by your physician) 3–5 days prior to lower bruising risk.
  • During: Tiny, targeted injections with a fine needle. Most patients describe brief pinches and pressure. Numbing and icing are available.
  • After: Mild redness or small bumps usually resolve within an hour. Remain upright for 4 hours, avoid rubbing-treated areas for 24 hours, and skip strenuous exercise the day of treatment.

How long do results last?

Most patients enjoy smoother lines for 3–4 months. With consistent maintenance, some areas may "train" to soften over time. We'll tailor your cadence to match your goals and natural expressiveness.

FAQ

How many units will I need?

Units vary by area, muscle strength, and your goals. During consult, we'll map your facial movement and recommend a personalized plan. Note: units are not interchangeable across brands.

When will I see results?

Many patients notice softening within a few days; full results typically appear by 10–14 days. We include a follow-up window for fine-tuning when appropriate.

Will I look "frozen"?

No. Our approach preserves your natural expressions while reducing heavy lines. We'll keep your brow lift and smile looking like you—just smoother.

What are the side effects?

Common, temporary effects include redness, pinpoint swelling, or mild bruising. Less commonly, headache or eyelid heaviness can occur; these are usually self-limited. We'll review your health history to reduce risks.

Who is not a candidate?

We do not treat during pregnancy. Caution is advised with certain neuromuscular conditions or if you have a history of allergic reactions to botulinum toxin products. We'll assess suitability during your consultation.
