WHAT ARE NOVA THREADS?
NovaThreads are hypodermic needles pre-loaded with a polydioxanone (PDO) absorbable surgical suture that your skin will fully consume within 4 to 6 months. FDA-approved, these sutures are commonly used to perform open-heart surgery and is one of the safest materials to be implanted in your body. In aesthetic applications, there are a variety of threads available to lift the skin or to provide collagen stimulation where desired.
When the sutures are placed underneath the skin, your skin will gently react creating a “selective inflammatory response” and begin to produce collagen, which has been proven to create a longer lasting result. Our skin is excellent at repairing itself. Having NovaThreads placed by Dr. Ravi, your skin will heal itself by creating new collagen naturally!

WHAT CAN NOVA THREADS BE USED FOR?
The trademark of a youthful face has a “V-shape” appearance. When facial tissue ages, and with the help of gravity, this “V-shape” diminishes. The result can be a longer, more square-shaped and older-looking face. Without cuts or incisions, physicians trained in a multitude of NovaThreads techniques can delicately lift facial tissue and reposition the skin, defying the passage of time.
NovaThreads are also used around the lips to add precision without volume or an over-filled appearance such as “duck-lips.” The smooth threads can build collagen in the skin and have recently been reported to improve hair stimulation for thinning hair.
