Laser Vein & Redness Treatments
At illumeMD, our mission is simple: help you enjoy clearer skin with vascular laser treatments tailored to your unique skin type and concerns. We use cutting-edge devices—such as the Lutronic Clarity II and Rohrer Pico Laser—to target visible blood vessels, redness from rosacea, telangiectasias (broken capillaries), and cherry angiomas safely and effectively.
What Are Telangiectasias & Cherry Angiomas?
-
Telangiectasias are fine red, purple, or bluish blood vessels visible near the skin’s surface (often on the cheeks, nose, chin, or legs). They may become more visible with sun exposure, age, or certain skin conditions like rosacea.
-
Cherry angiomas are small, benign, bright-red to reddish-purple dome-shaped spots caused by clusters of small blood vessels. They often appear on the torso, arms, and shoulders and can increase in number with age.
How Do Laser Treatments Work?
-
Both the Lutronic Clarity II and Rohrer Pico lasers emit light at specific wavelengths that are especially absorbed by hemoglobin in blood vessels.
-
The absorbed energy heats the vessel walls, causing them to collapse or coagulate without damaging much of the surrounding tissue. Over time, those vessels are cleared by your body’s natural processes.
-
The goal is to reduce or eliminate visible redness, vessels, or angiomas with minimal side effects.

Treatment Details
| Component | Information Clients Usually Want |
|---|---|
| Duration per session | Usually 15-30 minutes, depending on size and number of lesions. Large treatment areas may take longer. |
| Number of sessions | Some clients see visible improvement in just one session. For deeper or more extensive telangiectasias or multiple cherry angiomas, 2-3 sessions spaced several weeks apart may be recommended. |
| Sensation & Comfort | Many describe a snapping sensation or mild heat. We use cooling methods & may apply topical numbing for comfort. |
| Downtime / Recovery | Mild redness, swelling, or tiny scabs may occur, especially for cherry angiomas. Usually resolve in 1-7 days. Makeup can often be used after 24 hours, depending on area. |
| Results Timeline | Vessels often begin fading within 1-2 weeks; full improvement usually seen over 4-6 weeks or more after each session. Cherry angiomas may disappear faster or require touch-ups if deeply seated. |
| Side Effects / Risks | Temporary redness, swelling, possible hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, rare blistering or crusting. Skin type matters—darker skin tones may require special parameters to minimize risk. |
| Maintenance | Sun protection critical. Periodic maintenance treatments may help if new vessels appear, or if rosacea flares. |
